Cognitive, emotional and motivational mechanisms.
Objectives:
To study the cognitive, emotional, and motivational mechanisms associated with the development of early mathematical skills.
This line will have a quantitative approach through longitudinal measurements of the mechanisms associated with the development of early mathematical skills, both of students and significant adults. We will ask whether factors such as mathematical self-concept, stereotypes or math anxiety are associated with children’s learning, and whether they affect low-SES students and girls differently.
